Brief Synopsis –
The Film Sequence will be about a man who is schizophrenic and gets out of his car in front of a house. He goes into the cellar but we don’t see his face and when he is in the cellar he starts his work which is ripping bed linen, cutting masks with a knife and stitching the eyes of the mask. During this sequence the titles will flash in. Then he suddenly hears child laughter and stands up, takes his lamb and walks to see what is going on. The lamp light hits the feet of a child and then the light goes up and we have a close up of a face in a mask breathing heavily. The cold breath comes out of the mouth and builds the title.

Thriller

Thriller is a broad genre of literature, film, television, and gaming that includes numerous and often overlapping sub-genres. Thrillers are characterized by fast pacing, frequent action, and resourceful heroes who must thwart the plans of more-powerful and better-equipped villains. Literary devices such as suspense, red herrings and cliffhangers are used extensively. "Homer's Odyssey is one of the oldest stories in the Western world and is regarded as an early prototype of the thriller." A thriller is villain driven plot, whereby he presents obstacles the hero must overcome. The genre is a fascinatingly flexible form that can undermine audience complacency through a dramatic rendering of psychological, social, familial and political tensions and encourages sheltered but sensation-hungry audiences, in Hitchcock's phrase, "to put their toe in the cold water of fear to see what it's like."

Horror fiction is a genre of fiction in any medium intended to scare, unsettle and horrify the audience. Historically, the cause of the "horror" experience has often been the intrusion of a disturbing supernatural element into everyday human experience. Since the 1960s, any work of fiction with a morbid, gruesome, surreal, or exceptionally suspenseful or frightening theme has come to be called "horror". Horror fiction often overlaps science fiction or fantasy, all three categories of which are sometimes placed under the umbrella classification speculative fiction.

my first practical lesson.

interviews:
our first practical lesson was when we learnt how to use a camera and lighting. we set up a camera on a tripod in a studio and a lot of different lights around the room. we then filmed one interviewer and on member of the class on two chairs we changed the possitioning and the lighting of the camera as the interviewed person was changed giving everyone a chance to be interviewed. i filmed most of the interviews as i had previous experience at using film cameras.
Photoshop:
we had our second practical lesson using photoshop, we edited a blade poster using photoshop. we used different photos of blade, put them together using the cutting tool and the move tool, and made a new one. we learnt how to use layering and the burn and sponge tool and magic wand ect. then for our prep we had to edit our own blade poster together. this was very interesting as we were left on our own to edit the pictures. i had some problems with layers but it was quickly sorted out and i produced my blade poster.
still cameras:
in our third practical lesson we used still cameras to take pictures of ourselves and other group members in different shot sizes. my group of four went onto a music practice room and took turns taking pictures of each other. we used different shot sizes like close up, medium close up, wide shot, extreme close up. ect. we then edited the pictures on photoshop.
video cameras:
in our fourth practical lesson we used video cameras to film a short clip of an action. my group filmed someone walking in and picking up a pot of sugar from the table. we used different shot sizes, angles and panning. we then returned to the class and compared videos.

my name is tom cunningham, i like skiieng, scuba-diving, skydiving and sunbathing. im working at hutwood house, my subjects are media, business, economics, sociology. i like mostly dance music and minimal eg. matias ayuago and calvin harris, daft punk, minitel rose. i do not have a certain favourite film as i like many of them a lot for example gladiator and scarface were amazing movies but so also was atonement, how high and the boiler room. i picked media because it could help me in the advertisement industry and help my business carrer aspirations. also it is very fun and interesting and i greatly enjoy using phtoshop. and editing films. i enjoy watching bones and criminal minds on the tv and i used to watch skins but i do not like the new series. my favourite tv show would have to be shameless. my favourite music video is raindrops by basement jaxx.
