2. how does your product represent particular social groups?

Our film represents young children that are the victims of kidnapping and abuse, this is also represented in movies, the orphanage, the others and hide and seek. These films all deal with issues with children.
There are two main groups that we are representing in our video one is young girls who are the victims of sexual or violent abuse, because the girl in our movie is shown as a submissive abuse victim. This relates to cases in the media from real life like baby p who was beaten to death and ignored by social services until it was too late and Victoria Clambie who died of abuse and ignorance from the authorities in the year 2000. Other films which have young venerable children as the main victim is the orphanage, which we based our original idea on, the others and hide and seek where a young child meets an imaginary friend that sickly corrupts her.

The second social group that we represent in our film is young males, our protagonist is a young male with mental health issues. He is represented as a paedophilic psychopath, men like this also featured in Friday the 13th and psycho when Anthony Perkins plays a murderous man going after a young boy and a women. We dressed our male actor in normal clothes to seem as if it was just an everyday guy but then he goes into the basement where he has a small girl tied and bound. This plays on the fears of most parents as he seems like anyone that your children would talk to. This is an illusion though because most instances of abuse are from the home or close family.
